As Mother's Day approaches, I find myself reflecting on the incredible woman who has been a guiding light in my life: my mom. She's not only been my biggest cheerleader but also a source of endless support and encouragement as I've pursued my dreams, including the creation of fern+daisy. Her unwavering belief in me has been the driving force behind my journey as an entrepreneur, and for that, I am endlessly grateful.
Growing up, my mom's boundless creativity inspired me to explore my own artistic talents from an early age. Whether it was crafting together, experimenting with sewing project, or simply decorating our home, she always encouraged me to express myself freely. Her nurturing spirit fostered my love for creativity and watered the seeds her mother and my dad's mother planted for what would later become fern+daisy. My mom is a firecracker and a humble woman, my mom's greatest joy has always been seeing my brother's and my dreams come to fruition. Her unwavering love and support humble and inspire me every day.
Mother's Day can evoke a mix of emotions for many of us. While it's a beautiful opportunity to honor the incredible women who have shaped our lives, it can also be a poignant reminder of loss for those who are missing a mother or mother-like figure. As we navigate the complexities of this day, it's important to recognize and celebrate all forms of motherly love, past and present.
Reflecting on different seasons of my life where I lived far from my mom, I'm reminded of the countless women who stepped into my life through my work and church, filling the void that physical distance created. Some of these incredible women have since passed away, leaving behind a bittersweet ache in my heart. I cherish the memories of our coffee dates and the intentional love they poured into me, even when they didn't have to. Additionally, I think of my beautiful Mamaws, who are no longer with us but whose legacy of love and generational care continues to inspire me.
This year, at fern+daisy, we want to extend our gratitude to the women who have represented motherhood in its many forms. Whether it's a biological mother, stepmother, grandmother, aunt, mentor, or friend, their love and influence have left an indelible mark on our lives and yours. Join us as we celebrate the strength, resilience, and unconditional love of these remarkable women.
To all the moms out there, past and present, thank you for everything you do.
Happy Mother's Day!
